Have you ever said, “I wish I was a kid again.”?
Some days are harder than others as we know.
Being an adult you have so many responsibilities, to bring parenthood into the mix tops it off!
I just don’t feel like doing anything today!
Having daily responsibilities can be a drag, waking up doing your 9-5, rushing home to cook dinner and give the kids a bath, just to put your feet up for 5 minutes to doze off for the remainder of the night.
Place this on repeat, can any relate?
Giving yourself a mental health day to regroup is what we all need.
Being an adult doesn’t have to be scary nor full of aggression.
We take many things for granted as adults.
We tend to not find the joy in; playing outside, adventures in the outdoors, building blocks, painting and coloring.
To some this may sound silly but we all have an inner child-like behavior, we all like to be taken care of and we all like to have fun!
On your days of exhaustion don’t dwell on hiding under the covers, or being behind a bottle of wine.
Try taking a walk breathing in fresh air, lighting a candle, or saying a prayer for strength.
With not boycotting adulthood look at being an adult in a different light;
You have been thinking it over and over as much as we tease adulthood, it definitely has some strong points.
Sure, we all have to pay bills and make our own doctors appointments and deal with stupid people.
There’s no way around those things.
But there is a whole bunch of other stuff that adults can do that make growing up worthwhile.
These will make you laugh..
- You make the rules
- No school
- No curfew
- You can stay up late
- You can eat whatever you want
- You can drive
- You don’t have to get permission to get a pet
- You can decorate your house just the way you want
- You can get piercings and tattoos
- Total freedom
The moral of the story?
Adulthood is hard.
It’s frustrating and humiliating and just when you think you’ve got it all figured out, fire and brimstone are cast upon you.
Only the strong can survive this life.
Still, adulthood has some high points.
Buying your own stuff, eating whatever you want, getting tattoos and piercings all over the place.
It’s all good.
But the best part about being an adult is the freedom of being incharge of your own destiny.
So get on that unicorn, trot over that rainbow, and be who you want to be!
LOVE THIS LIFE, ITS ALL IN YOUR HANDS.
