Are You Driven, Capable, and Completely Exhausted?

You’re good at getting things done. The problem is, you can’t seem to stop.

  • Do you finish one thing and immediately start thinking about the next?
  • Does resting make you feel guilty, restless, or like you’re falling behind?
  • Are you still functioning well on the outside while privately wondering how much longer you can keep this up?
  • Do small requests irritate you because you already feel like you have nothing left to give?
  • Have you gotten so used to being productive that you’re not sure who you are when you’re not accomplishing something?

You may not think of yourself as burned out because you’re still showing up. You’re working, taking care of people, meeting deadlines, and doing what needs to be done.

But keeping everything going is taking more out of you than anyone realizes.

You Get Through the Day. Then Do It All Again Tomorrow.

Your mind starts working before your feet hit the floor. There’s always something that needs your attention, and even when you cross something off the list, your brain has already moved on to what’s next. You tell yourself you’ll slow down after this week, this deadline, this project, this busy season. But the finish line keeps moving, and lately even the things you used to enjoy can feel like one more thing requiring energy you don’t have.

You’re tired, but slowing down somehow feels uncomfortable too.

You Are Not Alone

Burnout can happen when prolonged stress and demands continue to outweigh your opportunities for rest, recovery, and support. And it doesn’t always look like someone who can’t get out of bed.

Sometimes burnout looks remarkably productive.

You can be successful, dependable, ambitious, and deeply exhausted at the same time. That’s why comments like “just take a break,” “you need better work-life balance,” or “you need to learn how to relax” can feel so frustrating.

You already know you need a break. The harder question is why it feels so difficult to actually take one.

You Can Be Driven Without Running Yourself Into the Ground

When your identity has become intertwined with being productive, dependable, or successful, burnout isn’t always solved by taking a weekend off.

You may need space to look at what keeps pulling you back into the same cycle. Maybe you feel responsible for everyone. Maybe slowing down brings up guilt. Maybe achievement has become one of the ways you feel secure or valuable. Or maybe you’ve been operating at this pace for so long that constant pressure simply feels normal.

Therapy can help you understand what’s underneath the exhaustion and begin building a life that doesn’t require you to constantly push past your own limits.

What Will a Burnout Therapist Provide for Me?

Burnout therapy isn’t about teaching you how to become even more efficient.

In your first sessions, we’ll talk about what your days actually look like, where your energy is going, what feels unsustainable, and what tends to happen when you try to slow down or set limits.

Because burnout rarely exists in isolation, we may also explore anxiety, perfectionism, people-pleasing, boundaries, relationships, work stress, family expectations, self-worth, or past experiences that shaped your relationship with achievement and responsibility.

Our approach is warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed. Therapy is individualized around what’s happening in your life rather than giving you another generic list of self-care strategies to complete.

Over time, progress might look like noticing your limits sooner, setting boundaries without spending hours second-guessing them, allowing yourself to rest without immediately trying to earn it, or making decisions based on what matters to you rather than what keeps everyone else happy.

The goal isn’t to make you less ambitious. It’s to help ambition stop costing you so much.

What To Expect

In your first session, your therapist will collaboratively complete a full intake with you. This background information helps to identify current and past experiences, things that have worked or not worked for you in dealing with these feelings prior, and assessing supports, barriers, and areas of improvement to guide your treatment forward.

From there, a thorough plan of treatment will be established, and evidenced-based practices will be utilized to move you towards those treatment goals. We will work to manage the depression symptoms, reframe negative thoughts that are plaguing you, and develop coping skills to make progress as linear as possible.

I Still Have Some Concerns…

I’m still getting everything done. Am I really burned out?

You don’t have to wait until you can’t function anymore to take your exhaustion seriously. Some people compensate for burnout by working harder, becoming more organized, or pushing themselves further. What matters isn’t only what you’re accomplishing. It’s what maintaining that pace is costing you.

I don’t want therapy to tell me I need to quit my job or give up my goals.

It won’t. Being driven isn’t something we need to take away from you. Therapy can help you look at how you pursue those goals, what expectations you’re carrying, and whether there are ways to succeed without continually overriding your own needs.

I already know I need boundaries. I just feel guilty when I set them.

Knowing what a healthy boundary looks like and actually tolerating the discomfort of setting one are very different things. Therapy gives you room to understand that guilt, practice responding differently, and build trust in your ability to make decisions that work for you.

I’ve tried self-care. It doesn’t work.

When you’re burned out, being told to add meditation, exercise, journaling, or another wellness routine to your schedule can feel like another assignment. Therapy can go deeper than adding coping strategies by looking at the patterns that keep creating the exhaustion in the first place.

You Don’t Have to Wait Until You Hit a Wall

You can be grateful for your life, proud of what you’ve accomplished, and still admit that the way you’re doing things isn’t sustainable.

If you’re tired of being the person who can handle everything, we can help you understand what keeps you in that role and find a way forward that leaves more room for you.
